  • What is DASH?
    DASH is the first government fleet accepted and approved fully integrated connected system - a next generation meter + a payment terminal - that can be fitted into all approved old & new taxi models to digitalize taxi operations. For passengers, DASH finally enables seamless digital payment of taxi fare. We currently can cover all common payment methods, accepting physical credit cards by tap or insertion (Visa, MasterCard, UnionPay), payment by device (ApplePay, SamsungPay, HuaweiPay), Octopus, and Alipay & WeChatPay. For drivers and managers, DASH unlocks more systematic management of the taxi vehicle to increase the vehicle’s utility and efficiency, with T+1 digital payment settlement and full vehicle operation data tracking capabilities via 4G and GPS.
  • What payment methods are accepted?
    1. Through DASH app: Mastercard or Visa; 2. Through the POS terminal: Mastercard, Visa, Alipay, WeChat Pay, UnionPay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Huawei Pay, and Octopus.
  • What should I do if my taxi meter or POS system is not showing the correct amount?

  • How do I register for a DASH for Driver account?
    The registration process only takes 5 minutes. You need to prepare the following documents: A photo of your Hong Kong Identity Card A photo of your Taxi Driver License A photo of your bank debit / EPS card Please download the DASH for Driver app, enter your phone number, and follow the steps to complete the registration. Your registration process should be approved within 1 hour. Once you receive a WhatsApp notification of your successful registration, you can log in, register your taxi vehicle details, and begin receiving ride-hailing orders!
  • How do I register my taxi for ride-hailing?
    Note: If your taxi has installed the DASH meter, then you do not need to register your taxi. Your taxi vehicle details will be automatically registered and applied to your session. After you login to the Dash for Driver app, select 「接單」。Select 「新增駕駛的士」。 If you are the first driver to register your taxi, please upload your taxi vehicle license ready to upload for verification, then press 「提交」。 Check all details are correct then press "Confirm". Then press 「開始接單」。
  • Am I charged any platform fees as a driver?
    No, DASH does not charge any platform fees for drivers. You will always receive the full meter fare, plus any additional booking fee.
  • How do I receive payment settlement through DASH?
    Payments are settled at T+1 directly to the bank account you provided during account registration. The transferred amount includes: • The fare (based on the meter). • Taxi booking fees. • Any customer tips. For inquiries about payment discrepancies, please contact customer support.
  • I’ve completed the account registration. What else do I need to do?
    Your registration process should be approved in 1 hour. Once you've received a WhatsApp notification of your successful registration, you can log in and begin receiving ride-hailing orders! For a more seamless experience, install our taxi meter and POS system —installation is currently free. This means that all ride-hailing fares & digital payment fares are automatically connected to your meter, ensuring you will always charge the correct fare.   • Can multiple accounts be registered to the same taxi license?
    Yes, multiple accounts can be registered to the same taxi. If you are the first driver to register your taxi, please have your taxi vehicle documents ready to upload for verification. Please note that multiple drivers are able to simultaneously log in for the same taxi.
  • How do I accept ride-hailing trip requests?
    1. Swipe left on the order you’d like to accept. 2. Press 往 on the taxi meter to start the trip. This will update the POS terminal and the DASH app. 3. Press 停 on the meter when you reach the destination. The POS terminal and the DASH app will reflect the completed trip.
  • How can I track my ride and payment history?
    You can view your ride and payment history in 「收入記錄」and 「收入總計」。 The total amount displayed includes the estimated fare, taxi booking fee, and a separate line for any customer tips. If you have the DASH connected meter installed, you can also view your ride and payment history for non-DASH payment trips (e.g. cash). To toggle this feature on: 1. Go to "本更登錄". 2. Tap the settings icon in the top-right corner. 3. Select "顯示與通知" to turn the display of non-DASH trips on or off.
  • How do I use the DASH POS machine for street-hailing trips?
    For drivers with our DASH meter installed, use the taxi meter as you normally would for any trip. When the customer’s payment is successful, the font on the DASH POS screen will change from red to green. Ensure the meter turns green before the passenger leaves.
  • What should I do if I want to enquire about a trip or payment?

  • How do I register for a DASH account?
    All you need is a phone number and a Mastercard or VISA card! You can register with any phone number, as long as it can receive a one-time passcode during registration, and a Mastercard or Visa card to link as your payment method on the app.
  • Am I charged any platform fees as a user?
    1. 3% transaction fee applies for all rides. 2. An additional $5 booking fee will be charged for ride-hailing orders. 3. Registered users can enjoy exclusive discounts through the app.
  • Are there any other surcharges I should be aware of?
    Additional charges may include tunnel fees, waiting times, and other applicable taxi surcharges.
  • What is included in my estimated charge during ride-hailing?
    The estimated charge includes a breakdown of charges such as the estimated fare, taxi booking fee, and platform fee.
  • What should I do if I want to dispute my charge?

  • How can I pay for my taxi through DASH?
    You can pay with or without the DASH app: Without the DASH app: 1. Look for the POS terminal between the car seats. 2. Select your payment method and follow the on-screen instructions. Note: You can pay anytime during your ride. With the DASH app: 1. If you hail on the street: Open the app > Scan to Pay > Scan the QR code on the POS terminal and use your linked payment method. 2. If you hail through the app: Directly use your linked payment method. 3. Confirm your ride and payment details on the app. 4. The POS screen will display: "This ride is already linked."
  • How do I change my mobile number?
    Unfortunately, you cannot change the mobile number linked to your account once it is created. If needed, you can register a new account with a different mobile number.
  • Can I schedule a ride for later?
    You can schedule a ride through the DASH app. Please note that all scheduled rides must be booked at least 1 hour in advance.
  • How do I know if a driver has been matched for my scheduled trip?
    The DASH app will notify you once a driver is matched.
  • Why was I seemingly charged after only submitting a ride-hailing order?
    The estimated fare is held on your credit card as a pre-authorization. Once the ride is completed, the final amount will be charged, and any remaining balance will be refunded to your card.
  • Why was there a $0 transaction charge when I use 'Pair & Pay'?
    The $0 transaction is used to validate your payment method when pairing your trip with a street-hail taxi. The actual transaction will occur at the end of the trip.
  • Why was I charged a fee for cancelling my ride-hailing order?
    If the driver has already accepted the order, cancellation fees of $20 apply after 3 minutes for real-time trips or 45 minutes before the pick-up time for scheduled trips. Most of this fee is given to the driver.
  • How is the amount I’m charged at the end of my trip determined?
    The estimated charge reflects the fare shown on the taxi meter. The final charge includes the booking fee and platform fee, as displayed in the DASH app, and may include additional booking fees during peak hours (e.g. weekends, public holidays).
